Bush Jr "Poodle" Ozzie PM attacks Obama on Iraq

One of Bush Jr's "poodles", Australian PM John Howard, attacked Obama on his Iraq withdrawal plan.

Howard's, a close ally of Bush Jr, was no doubt co-ordinating with the Bush Jr White House, since Obama is the leading Democratic critic of the Bush Jr's Iraq war among Democratic presidential candidates.

"I think that will just encourage those who want to completely destabilize and destroy Iraq, and create chaos and a victory for the terrorists to hang on and hope for an Obama victory," Howard said on Nine Network television.

Of course, it was the Bush Jr invasion and occupation of Iraq, with Mr. Howard's enthusiastic support, that destabilized and destroyed Iraq, created chaos and a victory for terrorists.

Obama's spokeman, Robert Gibbs, replied but didn't really turn the spotlight back on Bush Jr's failure.

""The United States has sacrificed more than 3,000 brave young men and women and $400 billion, only to find ourselves mired in the middle of a sectarian civil war," he said. "Even Republicans ... know that more of the same is only going to attract more terrorists to Iraq and make our country less safe."

I would have preferred a more aggressive response that notes the destruction and destabilization of Iraq is what Bush Jr did.

Outsourcing (none / 0)

It's all part of an attempt to outsource Cheney's job.

Re: Outsourcing (none / 0)

"The TPM post says "08:22 AM EDT".

"posted at 10:18 am under Iraq, Terrorism, Obama " on the page you referenced.

Timestamps (none / 0)

That's the DCDL post, not the TPM post, and anyway it's still almost an hour and a half before your diary, which says "11:46:48 AM EST". (Not sure why TPM thinks it's Daylight Saving Time.)

Of course it's a bit silly for any of us to be worrying about a "scoop" that consists of noticing a story that's being reported in the mainstream media.

Re: Timestamps (none / 0)

Not sure why TPM post you referenced says 10:18AM...thought it was funny.

"...being reported in the mainstream media."

It was more which online political discussion group picked up the story in a discussion.
